Finished in stunning metallic Polo Green over Saddle leather interior, this super rare Corvette ZR1 six speed manual was ordered in European specification and factory fitted with the special performance package and performance handling package.
Originally registered in on the 30th September 1990 in the state of Georgia and supplied by Tom Jumper Chevrolet, according to the original invoice the car cost a not inconsiderable $40863 which is the equivalent of over $84000 today.
Once registered in the USA the owner arranged for the car to be shipped immediately as a personal import to the UK where it has remained ever since. Fortunately, the original factory window sticker has remained with the car confirming the exact specification including all the cost options fitted.
Having covered only 86, 000 miles this Corvette presents in very nice condition with the exterior paintwork maintaining a deep lustrous finish with only minor blemishes as is to be expected of any 32 year old car, whist the interior is in equally nice order.
Specified from new with a transparent removable Targa roof panel, this car can be enjoyed year-round being warm and dry in the winter and whilst sun lovers will be pleased to note that the roof panel is easily removed allowing you to catch some rays whilst enjoying the V8 music.
Launched in 1990 and christened “King of the Hill” due to the cars prodigious power and handling, the Corvette ZR1 was the undisputed American supercar king.
Powered by a Lotus developed 5. 7 litre V8 christened the LT5, this phenomenal powerhouse had an aluminum-block V8 with four overhead camshafts and 32 valves producing 375Bhp. Lotus also designed a unique air management system for the engine to provide a wider power band by shutting off 8 of the 16 intake runners and fuel injectors when the engine was at part-throttle.
In addition to the engine, Lotus helped GM design the ZR-1's upgraded braking and steering systems meaning this was the first Corvette to handle and stop as well as its European counterparts.
In order to transfer power to the rear wheels, a unique 6-speed manual transmission was manufactured by ZF using Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS)
This fantastic Corvette is accompanied by a large history file including the original import documents and the ZR1 presentation box supplied when new, which still contains the special ZR1 handbooks and VHS video cassette.
A great opportunity to purchase the ultimate 90’s American supercar in a rare colour combination, and naturally we are happy for you to inspect the car on our ramps or have the car independently inspected.
