The Type 528 was introduced in 1952 as a sports engine for the Pre-A 356 and had a factory-rated output of 70 horsepower when new. It displaces 1, 488cc with a bore of 80mm and a stroke of 74mm and consists of a two-piece crankcase with four individual air-cooled cylinders.
It was acquired four years ago and was recently rebuilt by a marque specialist. The 1. 5L flat-four features a two-piece case and is fitted with a Bosch distributor, 6-volt generator, 356B crankshaft, FRAM oil filter canister, refinished engine tin, and twin Solex 40 PBIC carburetors. Exhaust components and a flywheel are also included. This Pre-A 356 Super engine is now offered for sale.
