We are pleased to offer a wonderful 1963 Austin Mini Super De Luxe. Finished in Tartan red with a contrasting white roof this matching numbers example has oodles of charm and patina and is a joy to behold and drive. It is accompanied with a large history folder which includes previous V5s and a Heritage certificate, it was registered in June 1963 and supplied by Car Mart in Colchester and amazingly will be 60 years old next year. This MK1 has survived very well and has had restoration work over the years but it still has a very original feel and look which adds to its charm and character.
On the road its an absolute pleasure to drive. Push the floor start and the original 850 engine fires instantly with strong oil pressure, the gearbox is smooth and precise and it cruises happily on the open road giving that pure Mini driving experience. It benefits from having all of the running gear replaced in the last couple of years so it handles and stops as its should do and you cant help but smile when your behind the wheel.
The interior is very well presented and again has a very original feel with its correct red vinyl seats, original roof liner, magic wand gearstick, three clock centre binnacle and the all important large steering wheel. being an early car it also has pull handles on the doors.
The Mini has a very solid shell with the correct fluted sills, body coloured floor pans and underside and the original FE numbers are present and correct on the inner wing and floor pan. It has had as mentioned all new running gear which includes, tyres, brakes and suspension and a new rear subframe. The engine bay is also nicely detailed. The tartan red paint is well presented and in keeping with its age. It can quite easily sit on display at any show but still be very useable on a daily basis and be driven and enjoyed.
The Mini is fully serviced and has a full MOT and is MOT and Tax exempt.
