Superb “numbers matching” Mustang Mach 1 with the hard to find 300bhp 4v 351 Cleveland M Code engine.
The 1970 Mustang offered two versions of the 351 Cleveland, the H-code with two-barrel carburetor, and the M-code four-barrel, which also had higher compression cylinder heads (10. 7:1 vs. 9. 5:1), using closed—or quench-type—combustion chambers vs. open-type for the two-barrel. The two-barrel received the same 250-horsepower rating as the 1969 351W two-barrel, which also was tagged H-code. This car has the four barrel M code option.
Using a mild hydraulic cam and a relatively small 600-cubic-feet-per-minute (cfm) carburetor, the M-code was rated at 300 hp. Around only 25% of 1970 Mach 1 autos had the M code option. This particular Mustang also has a new upgraded carburettor, Weiand X-CELerator intake manifold and a Powermaster coil fitted.
Produced on the 21st July 1970 at the San Jose Ford plant in California. Ordered with Grabber blue paint and black interior. Excellent new correct Grabber Blue paint with correct black Mach 1 hood stripes. Good condition interior with no rips or tears in the headlining or seat covers. All lights working. This car spent all of its life in California before coming to the UK. It comes with its original 1970 blue and yellow California number plates.

The car also comes with a Marti report.
The car now sports new Magnum 500 wheels and recent BF Goodrich tyres. Great rust free floor pans. Really hard to find in original, survivor condition like this. Original rear quarters which is rare on these cars.
New parts installed include new spark plugs and complete new HT lead set. Tune up including Ignition timing timing setting and carburettor calibration. New Brake pads, new spring perches and new steering idler arm.
Complete with Marti report, over £9500 of recent invoices and work documented. Original VIN plate is present and also the original buck tag in the engine compartment all present and matching. The engine is also numbers matching to the car with the VIN number stamped on it. Everything all matches up to the Marti report.
