Description
Time to sell winter projects now clocks gone and sun is out. BIG reduction in price as another bike on the way. If looking at ugly as sin BMW converts with 100k donors at £9k, perhaps should think again. Is now no money snip. Unique bike and great fun. 7k in London all day. Runs and rides like strong SP1000, just changed the persona.
Where to start.... look at video perhaps is best..... - details above
Since video has the BSA M20 steering damper knob fitted, plus optional Triumph Thruxton stainless tank strap. Can have the custom paint stripe, or the strap. I prefer it without, but got it if folks not happy with standard centre bolt holding the tank on etc.
Bike was stripped right back. Frame and wheels and swinger all done in black. All wiring practically binned. Retained the fusebox, as was still perfect. Electrosport box from Guttzibits replaces all the crappy old tin boxes. Good charge from checked over alternator, to new huge Yuasa battery. Retained coils with new points and condensers and plugs and leads and caps. Could have fitted electronic kit, but these old roundheads work fine on points.
Carbs ultrasonic and simple air filters fitted. Standard big engine breather but other 3 taken to VW non return breathers for simpicity and retain clean rockerbox internals etc.
Brembo brakes all checked, stainless lines, and de-linked so work as standard brakes, new master cylinder kits.
New tubes and Heidenau chunk tyres, and handles fine on them. Handling and braking on roundheads is excellent.
Daytona electronic all in one clock. Bates "Mamba" headlight with better bulb, and minimalist rear/ brake , with allowed black silver historic vehicle plate..... no tax or MOT of course on Historic class. Speedo drive comes off original gearbox drive with a digital converter.
Original mudguards. Bonneville T140 tank. Custom seat. Scrambles bars. Original levers and cylinders with new kits and fluids. New double pull throttle and old type Lucas dip/ horn switch. Rubber grips. Original exhaust with Matchless G12 type stumpy megga silencers. Sounds just right. Not silly, just sounds like a big 1000 V twin Guzzi should.
Simple ignition/ starter switcher from Landrover, basic Lucas style lights on-switch. Think that mainly it. Obviously full service etc.
Great little bike. Built like a brick outhouse. Rides lovely. Looks the biz . Too small for me really, but good fun to make. Well pleased with the result. Excellent paint done by Ashley Pauls Autos.... He does work for the crazy classic cars to Tesla power, so is best job. Is Audi Nardo grey......
Come to Leominster station and ride home, or i can get pro delivered to door in England and Wales for £120. Say 100 deposit to hold deal, and balance in cash or bank transfer before bike is uplifted.
May do something with a 1200 Triumph Scrambler as taller for me, or BMW HP2 Megamoto, cash your way of course. Any inspection before auction end welcome. Offers welcome. I have set a price as per my costs and a plus for lot of labour, so open to discussion as to value of my input. Would be crazy money in the Bike Shed in London, but trying to be realistic out here in the sticks. Looking for next project, maybe a cheap 106 Victory, anything interesting, old Brit and/ or race bike/ or trail bike etc.....
