Beautiful Mistral 4000 Coupe with aluminum body and original Campagnolo magnesium rims in an attractive and original color combination in metallic grey with brown seats.
Various work was recently carried out on the car by a specialist for a total of 18, 500 Euro (invoice available). Among many other things, the original injection system was overhauled. The vehicle then received a new MOT - with no defects found.
The tires will be renewed before handover.
The body is in very good condition - the older repaint shows no significant signs of wear and tear, no signs of corrosion and the interior is very well preserved to this day with the original materials.
The example offered here is one of the last built Maserati Mistral. According to the Maserati archive, it was produced in March 1969 and delivered on April 1, 1969 via the Maserati dealer in Genoa to its first owner, a hotelier living in Alassio on the Italian Riviera. A copy of the historic Maserati certificate with all data, the factory order, the test reports and the delivery note from 1969 is available.
The car came to a collector in Germany in 2012, was registered there for the first time in February 2014 and has remained in the same ownership until now.
The Maserati Mistral was introduced in 1963 as the successor to the 3500 GTI. The well-known in-line six-cylinder engine with fuel injection, which had been tried and tested in racing, was taken over from its predecessor, but the displacement was slightly increased. Due to the shorter wheelbase of only 2. 4 m, the Mistral is actually a pure two-seater, even if one could order rear emergency seats if desired. Frua was responsible for the elegant body design with the gently sloping rear and the large glass tailgate. From 1966, the initial 3. 7-litre version was joined by a 4-litre variant with a larger displacement and more power and a ZF five-speed gearbox. On request, one could order the more modern magnesium alloy wheels instead of the spoked wheels.
Only 830 of the coupé variant were made between 1963 and 1969.
According to the chassis number, our 4-litre example is one of the last 20 Mistral coupes.
