Description

VERY SPECIAL 911 RESTOMOD
The Carrera RSR was aimed squarely at the FIAs Group 4 category for Special Grand Touring Cars, Porsche built an all-out racing model based on the Carrera 2. 7 RS, incorporating every conceivable improvement allowed by the rule book. The result was the 2. 8 RSR, a thoroughbred 911 developed strictly for competition use.
Visually, the 2. 8 RSR can be distinguished from a standard 2. 7 RS by its massive fender flares, central oil-cooler air intake, and ultra-wide Fuchs wheels – 9 up front and 11 at the rear. This model is surely one of the most sought-after 911 models ever built.

For sale here by a passionate Porsche, collector is a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3. 8 recently completed RHD Restomod. This special Porsche has got the old-style look but it has been updated to modern technology using a 964 engine,

When this build was conceived the aim was to build a sub 1, 000kg RSR as close to the original using an original F-series body and incorporating modern technology. And, as such a 964 engine stroke to 3. 8l engine was used managed by drive by wire pedal box and a high-end ECU. It was decided to rather make this car a daily driver so almost standard cams were used so you have torque from low down. This also means that there are quite a bit of horses that can be extracted from the engine should you want to make it a track weapon. This package was mated to a G50 box fitted with a limited-slip diff. An imported bespoke gear shifter was fitted. A very rare 1972 911 side cooler was used as a donor car and it is sprayed in the 1973 Porsche original silver. It is and all metal car with a carbon duck tail and fiberglass front and rear fenders. It was an LHD drive car converted to RHD using the internal body panels from an RHD 911 SC. The completed car weighs only 975kg wet. A true achievement.

Wheels are original Fuchs running 17” in the rear and 16” in the front (11j and 9j wide). The reason for the 17’ was that it is almost impossible to find very wide 16” tyres.

On the suspension side, Bilstein coil-overs were fitted using Ohlin springs, and both front and rear Elephant racing suspension is used to help this amazing Porsche stick to the road. It gives a very comfortable ride.

993 Turbo Big red brakes in the front round this car off nicely. With such power to weight ratio coming to a stop is crucial and this is where these brakes shine.

A new interior was fitted and new Corbeau GT8 Seats and Momo MOD. 07 Steering wheel installed.

LED head lights installed with amazing clarity driving at night.

No expense was spared during this build.
