Beschreibung
If you don't know the subtle signs, this car looks just like a very ordinary Mercedes. In fact it is the ultimate sleeper.
Probably the fastest 4-seater production saloon of its generation, with a signed, handbuilt engine producing 470 BHP and 700NM of torque, this car will reach 60 mph in just over 4 secs and 100 mph in 10 seconds. The 50-100 speed was rated faster than a Ferrari at the time of its release.
Originally in excess of £70, 000 in 2003, this amazing car is now available for less than a new Dacia Sandero.
It is absolutely loaded with features including multimode auto gearbox with manual button change on the steering wheel, cruise, speed control, adjustable everything, active control seats with active bolster support, grip, lumbar adjustment and massage function, active air suspension with three levels of stiffness and height control, SatNav, four-zone climate control, sunroof, Harmon-Kardon sound system, etc., etc.
This car has been driven for in excess of 122k miles in its 19 years so approximately 6, 500 miles per annum. It been lovingly looked after by a series of no less than 9 owners over the course of its life so far and, inevitably, some of its history has gone adrift in all the transitions but, some is still available.
I acquired it from a friend in 2016 and, in my ownership, it has had a replacement NSF air strut, water pump, idler pulley, auxilliary belts, both batteries (main one replaced last week). I fitted new Continental front tyres in 2018 and matching rears in 2019 - these haven't done much mileage since as I have hardly used the car since the beginning of 2020 except to keep it running properly.
Bodily, it is clean and tidy with just a few tiny scratches. Mercs of this era were prone to rust and this one is remarkably clear of this problem. There has been a small amount of bubbling at the back of the sills within the wheelarches and I have recently treated this to stop any further spread. Otherwise, it is rust free and the paintwork is highly polished. Wheels in good condition but would benefit from refinishing.
Clean and tidy inside with lovely AMG leather seats, it is a nice place to be. My friend calls it a "nuclear powered stately home!"
Price - You will be hard put to find another one under £10k and I am pricing it very competitively at £8500 as I am keen to sell.
