For sale is my Land Rover Series 1 - 107 Station Wagon 1958 RHD.
When I purchased the 107sw the previous owner told me the following:
"The vehicle has been rebuilt from top to bottom. New front hubs and chroming, propshaft front and back redone, new shocks, new exhaust, new suspension, new tyres, rims refurbished and galvanized, diff refurbished, chassis refurbished, interior and exterior renewed, new carburetor and solex carburetor, engine rebuilt, brakes, new clutch, new electrics, new steering, new electronic ignition and new window and door rubbers the list goes on. This project took a couple of years and the vehicle is in great condition."
Additionally he owned it 5/ 6 years and brought it when the restoration had just been completed and since then he told me he had only done 1000 miles and left it garaged in his home due to his business commitments etc with current mileage reading just under 33, 000 miles.
My ownership:
With the 107sw being a rare vehicle with a few hundred considered to be remaining world wide thus making this matching numbers 107sw a rare find 64 years on, with the chassis, engine, gearbox and axles all being correct for the model and year.
Which provides the bonus of it being easily exportable to the USA.
The chassis is solid, bulkhead and rear cross member are rust free due to it being from South Africa.
The 107sw is fully registered and road legal for the UK.
Being 64 years old it is a very clean example of a 107sw but its not without its character (viewing welcome / see photos).
I have been through the braking system, renewed the push starter button, changed the battery cable, cleaned up the earthing points, changed out the fuel filters and so on.
Have fixed a few leaks and renewed seals on the axles and differentials.
It has an twin fuel tanks and pumps providing extended range, an electric fuel pump and webber carb (the original Lucas fuel pump and solex are included).
All electrics for the lights front and rear are in working order.
The bulkhead has had repairs in the past during restoration.
I brought a heritage certificate from the British Motor Museum which also states the original colour was grey.
A bonus of this 107sw is its ability to be used commercially for private hire and weddings allowing it to pay for its keep.
The front mounted tyre is included just not pictured.
