For sale my MG TC
its build date is october 1949 chassis number TC10001
according to the TC register its one of the last 250 made
TC10250 being the last.
its a matching numbers car with the original XPAG engine fitted.
It was originally exported to California in 1949, where it was owned for a very long period of time by the same owner a well known MG enthusiast. It then moved to Beverley Hills before being repatriated to the UK by Steve Baker in 2013.
It was then sold to a gentleman in West Wales, who spent the next 8 years restoring it.
The car received a rebuilt body and some new panels
including new front wings bonnet and others
The mechanicals were all rebuilt or replaced as needed
this included a engine rebuild and gearbox overhaul
all ancillaries were either replaced or rebuilt including
Gauges
New wiring loom
Braking system
New tyres
Radiator recored
Radiator shell re chromed
Steering box modification carried out
Stainless exhaust
the list goes on
All the interior has been replaced with new tan leather
and carpets
New tan mohair roof and sidescreens
New tonneau cover
Luggage rack
So TC10001 has been totally renovated
Now for the bad bit!
having spent upwards of £10, 000 + the car he decided not to have it professionally painted?????
he bought 2 pack paint and painted it by hand??????
From 20 feet away it looks very nice? but on closer inspection its not very nice.
Ive spoken to a professional that says it can be sanded back and over painted with no problem and this was my intention. Circumstances have changed and I've lost the facilities to do this.
TC10001 could be easily used for the summer and be given a new overcoat next winter. It gets positive comments wherever it goes.
So if someone is looking for totally rebuilt tc that only needs a re spray or use as it is look no further.
