History
The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 was the last car of the series produced before the Second World War, so in 1946 in the Portello plants (semi-destroyed by bombing) it was the first to go into production, flanked by the Turismo, Sport and Super versions. Sport.
In fact, the chassis of the 250 in the post-war version (with a rear axle with independent Porsche-type wheels) was among the most advanced in the entire world production and in any case better than that proposed by the newborn Ferrari.
The fastening system of the bodywork was also changed, no longer bolted, but welded to the chassis side members, a novelty brought to the debut by the & C 2500 "Freccia d'Oro", new 4/ 5 seater Coupè, characterized by a modern "two volumes ”with rounded tail (nicknamed Gobbone).
The "Freccia d’oro" were assembled by Carrozzeria Alfa, the forerunner of the Alfa Romeo Style Center and were equipped with a 90CV engine that allowed to reach 155 km / h.
Their success in sports competitions is almost obvious, above all thanks to their proverbial reliability. In 1950 two 6C "Freccia d’Oro" took part in the Carrera Panamericana in 1950, the no. 90 by Taruffi and 103 by Bonini-Bonetto.
From 1947 to 1950, 2, 500 copies were produced, of which only 680 "Freccia d’Oro".

Our Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 "Freccia d'Oro"
Our car is now conservatively restored in a beautiful red color with an original cream interior.
The dashboard is perfectly preserved and all the instruments are in working order.
The engine is original and kept in perfect efficiency thanks to revisions by specialists of the brand.
Original Alfa Romeo spoke rims, new tires.
In 1974 the car was repainted black to be used for the filming of the film "Mussolini Last Act" by director Carlo Lizzani with Rod Steiger as Benito Mussolini, Franco Nero, Henry Fonda and Lisa Gastoni as Claretta Petacci.
On that occasion, the first number of the plate was covered, having a more recent numbering than that of the plates from the period of the historical re-enactment.
This model is still today a true style icon that continues to "tempt" many collectors for participating in historical re-enactments, or jealously guarding it in your garage.
It is legendary because it ranks among the most beautiful cars ever, because it represents the final chapter of one of the most prestigious Alfa Romeos and finally, because it remains one of the most valuable road Alfa Romeos.
