Description

It only wants rescuing from me lol, you will not find another 21 year old Ford with the service history of this one.

Full Ford service history, up to date and due again in January 2023, as is the MOT, and it has only ever been Mot tested at one Ford Main agent.
It has never had a spurious part fitted to it.
The Mot history is virtually impeccable, 1 fail for a ball joint dust cover and 5 minor advisories, have you ever seen better over 19 mot tests?

It is a very rare colour, I think a MK2 shade carried over.
Eligible for cheap classic insurance and ULEZ compliant, not got to wait 41 years to drive this retro Ford in Cities lol.

Owned by Ford for two years, next private owner for 19 years, then me for 6 months.
There are less than 200 petrol Zetec S still registered, 48 road legal, saloon, hatch and estate, this one is the desirable saloon V6 manual version. A non sunroof car too.
It also has the 18 inch split rim alloy wheel option.

VGC inside and out, drives very well indeed, you cannot fault the history.

So why does it need rescuing? I bought it as a stop gap, from the Ford main agent that sold it in 2003 and has maintained it since, after my Golf was written off.
I only found out it had a cat D in 2016 when I got the V5. Looks like N/ s front door has been repaired, but the owner would not let it go and continued having it maintained at the Ford Agent, they probably repaired it, who knows. The servicing costs alone must be a fortune, and it was not a cheap car new.

The main reason though, it is worth far more in parts to me than I can sell it for, there are parts I can use the 18 inchers on another car, the headlights are mint and always handy, the cats make 420 quid, so are all the removable panels, rear lights, leather wheel, the interior will replace a scruffy one in another car, loads of Fords come my way. Good bare engines are 3-500 quid on Ebay.

For now lets see if someone will rescue it, hate breaking cars this good, especially old Fords, but it needs to go soon, the MK5 Golf GTI I bought is everything the forums say it is and I love it to bits.

If you are prepared to take it apart it will never lose money, surely destined for classic status if you keep it, being a rare model and a saloon, just cutting the cats off and weighing it in gets most of the asking price back.
A true bargain car.
