Description
1963 Charming old Morris J2 Van advertised on behalf of a customer. This van was bought from new by a Mr Ralph of Ralphs Radio and Television Service and was kept in their family till 2006 when it was sold. We have the old buff log book showing the first two owners from the same family, a newpaper article with a picture of the van being pulled out in 2006. Its sing had two further owners and is now dark blue in colour. This van has also featured on a TV programme called the Ipcress files. We also have a copies of the V5s showing the additional owners but the current V5 has been lost and will need applied for. The van retains its original reg 807 TBF
Body - Very Solid Old Van. Looks very original underneath and really solid. Panels are good. Originally the van was black / cream up top from new but is now a midnight blue colour. Paintwork is nice and tidy. Its not concours but very tidy and useable . Inside the cab and rear is painted white. It looks a very original old thing rather than something thats had major restoration work.
Mechanics - Starts and runs no problem. Engine sounds fine. Gearbox is fine but takes a bit of getting used to where the gears are. Brakes feel ok but feel like they are dragging a bit with it being in storage for a while. Probably want a strip down and clean up to free them off a bit. I drove this round the industrial estate this morning and it drives fine and to be honest much better than i thought a 60 year old van would drive. It was last MOTd in 2016 and is now running under the MOT exemption. Its showing 31000 miles on the speedometer
Interior - Looks like the original seats which are perfectly useable. Not much else in there to be honest to write about. Its pretty basic but standard and tidy.
This is a lovely old van with a great history and in really good order for its age. Please feel free to come and see the van. We have ramp if you want to look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
