We are very pleased to offer a wonderful and very well preserved 1980 Austin Mini 1000. Finished in very period Pageant blue with contrasting Stripey velour seats and enhanced with a brand new set of Dunlop D1 alloys and four new tyres. This matching numbers example has had just two previous owners in 42 years and has only covered 28 thousand miles. Supplied new by Dutton Forshaw in Kettering to Mr Jones who kept the Mini for first three years, it was then supplied by the same dealer to Gladys George and eventually it passed onto her husband in 1999. It was then carefully stored which is the reason why it has been preserved so well. It is accompanied with a large service history folder including the original Super Cover wallet, handbook, passport to service book and an invoice for Ziebart body protection. It has all of its original V5's, sales receipt from 1983 and history up until 1999 with an indicated mileage of 27k. The Mini still has its original dealer sticker in the back window and its leather key fob from the supplying dealer. It has since been thoroughly recommissioned.
On the road this Mini drives very well. This is my favourite era of Classic Mini as they have the pure charm of the original with the benefit of 20 years of development. They are very easy to own and drive and easily keep up with modern traffic aswell as looking very cool. The original 998 engine is very responsive with strong oil pressure and is near silent. The Gearbox is also taught and precise. The Mini offers the amazing handling and precision that only the ten inch wheels can offer and you will certainly be smiling out on the open road.
The interior is very original with its very seventies stripey velour seats and original brown carpets. The original steering wheel and three clock centre binnacle is all present and correct. The roof liner is also in very good condition. It also has a very retro Binatone MW/ LW radio and cassette player which is working order so maybe find some old cassettes out!
This Mini has a very solid shell. Luckily it was Ziebart wax injected form new which has protected it very well. It has it original vented sills, body coloured floor pans and original boot floor. The rear subframe is also super solid. The paintwork is very presented and really does belie its vintage. This Mini is a head turner and rightly so.
The Mini has been fully serviced, checked and driven and it has full no advisory MOT so it is ready to go and be driven and enjoyed. It is also MOT and Tax exempt.
