Bergerac fans rejoice! Fresh into stock is this 1949 Triumph Roadster 2000. Over the past few years, this car has been looked after well with some key upgrades that will make this classic more useable.
Produced in February 1949, this Triumph Roadster is accompanied by a vast quantity of paperwork history and spare parts. Within the paperwork you will find an old style green logbook, this is stamped 1968, where it can be found in Peterborough. The car then moved up to Stoke-On-Trent in 2001 after an extensive, no expense spared restoration. Whilst in Stoke, it was looked after by Chris Shenton Engineering.
In 2016 the most recent owner bought the car and set about writing the next chapter of this car's history. They have fitted a reconditioned gearbox with overdrive fitted as well as a new high torque starter motor, an alternator conversion, some work to the distributor, and electronic ignition. The car now starts, runs, and drives remarkably well for a car that is over 70 years old. You will be amazed at just how comfortable this car is out on a drive and how usable it is.
At first, you may think that this Roadster 2000 is just a two/ three seater top-down cruiser. However, if you open the boot section you will be met with two extra jump seat style seats. These rear passengers even have their windscreen that pops up. This just adds to the useability of this car and the charm as well, because where else could you find this type of quirkiness.
Overall, the interior of this Triumph is in lovely condition, and it is now your opportunity to create many happy memories within the interior of this glorious classic.
The paintwork is in lovely condition, there are a few small marks around that you will find if you look hard enough. But there isn't any paint bubbling, obvious rust etc. There is a small dent on the rear of the car.
It may come as no surprise, but the mechanical elements of this Triumph are also in great condition. Throughout the previous owners, it has been looked after properly and cared for by enthusiastic owners. Out on the road, you will notice how important the reconditioned gearbox with overdrive is.
