Beschreibung

On September 12, 1963, Porsche presented the 901 model to the public for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show. However, the number had to be changed because Peugeot claimed trademark rights to all three-digit car model numbers with a zero in the middle. The 911 was then chosen. The Porsche 911 came on the market in 1964 with a 2. 0 liter air-cooled six-cylinder engine that was placed in the back and delivered 130 hp. This allowed the 911 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/ h in 8. 9 seconds.

The 912 also came on the market in 1965. This cheaper version, which is not actually counted as part of the 911 series, was externally the same but with a lighter engine and more soberly decorated. Over the years, the model range has been expanded. For example, the 911S with 160 hp was introduced in 1966 and the Targa in 1967, as a 'safety convertible' with permanently mounted roll bar and removable soft top. The targa is named after Porsche's many victories at the Targa Florio races in Sicily. In this version, Porsche combined the feel of a convertible with the security of a roll bar. The first types, called softwindow, had a plastic rear window that could be zipped out. A fixed glass rear window was supplied from 1969.

Because the engine and oil tank are placed in the back, the center of gravity is behind the rear axle, and the 911 has a tendency to oversteer. There is a danger that the car will oversteer and break out when cornering abruptly or on a wet road surface. From model year 1969, therefore, the wheelbase was increased by 57 mm, resulting in improved driving comfort and at the same time more stable driving dynamics. From model year 1972, the oil tank was moved forward to move the center of gravity forward.

Over the years, the engine capacity grew from 2. 0 to 2. 2 and 2. 4 liters. There were always various versions available. The standard 'T' (110, 125, or 130 hp), the comfort model 'E' (155 or 165 hp) or the sporty 'S' (160, 170, 180 or 190 hp). For model year 1973, the Carrera RS (Renn-Sport) came out with a 2. 7 liter engine and 210 hp. This was intended for racing but could also be used on the street. With the RS, every effort was made to reduce weight. The RS is clearly recognizable by its distinctive spoiler on the back of the car, a so-called "ducktail". The Carrera name was first used by Porsche in 1955 to commemorate a class win in the 1953 Carrera Panamericana. Carrera is Spanish for "race".

This Porsche 2. 2T Targa presented here is originally a car delivered in Germany that was then transported to the USA. Subsequently, this car was brought back to Germany and partly restored there, after which it was restored again in the Netherlands at Huisman Autotechniek in Lieren and it was very done well there. Everything is well documented and the entire process can be followed with the help of the supplied documentation. The previous owner was a member of the Classical Porsche Club Netherlands. Huisman Autotechniek is a top company and specializes in Porsche and Ferrari. The Porsche is here as new and is a matching numbers car. There is also a birth certificate in which all this can be followed. Furthermore, this Porsche of course has the Fuchs rims, also its original color and is otherwise exactly as delivered at the time. A beautiful original Porsche for the enthusiast and purist.
