This UK car has been in our family since 2005, we bought it from a friend; in 2017 we gave it to our son. He has asked us to sell it on his behalf.
It has five owners from new; in 2005, the mileage was 58000, now 84500. The thick file of documents includes the original wallet and manual. The service book is stamped from new until 2003 (52932 miles), there are invoices from 2002 (37918 miles).
The softtop was replaced in April 2015 and is still in excellent condition with no tears. The MOT runs to August 2023. Our son has personalised the car, though the car will come with a box of parts for the new owner to return it to original specification if preferred.
Regarding rust, the car is very clean. There is one small patch, on the near side behind the front wheel which is a typical mk1 issue.
The car drives like you would expect and benefits from the extra power of the 1. 8 engine. There are no oil or water leaks. The five-speed gearbox changes cleanly and positively.
