1920 Ford Model T Truck
Reg. no. SV 8381
Chassis no. 4432491
Engine no. 4432491
The Model T was introduced to the world in 1908. Henry Ford wanted the Model T to be affordable, simple to operate, and durable. The vehicle was one of the first mass production vehicles, allowing Ford to achieve his aim of manufacturing the universal car. This engineer owned and maintained example has been meticulously maintained whilst preserving its unique and genuine patina. It was bought in September 2000 from Tuckett Bros. of Oxfordshire and then spent the following 15 years in France where it saw little use. Since then this truck has been used for high days and holidays with the occasional trip to collect parts for the vendor’s engineering company. This ex-Pennsylvania truck benefits from rare after market Haslar springs, we are not sure if these offer any benefit to driving, but we agree they look great. There is a file of invoices supporting some of the works carried out in the last 23 years, including Kevlar bands and gearbox work, the fitting of a new hood in 2015, the fitting of an upgraded top speed clutch kit, an uprated water pump and overhauling of the flywheel, magneto and coil boxes. Whilst consigning this Model T, our consultant covered about 18 miles, and a top speed of about 45mph was experienced; the brakes were found to be reassuringly effective. It takes a few moments to familiarise yourself with the unique Model T controls, but once you have accomplished these skills it becomes very much second nature.

For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
