This stunning vehicle started life in the states in 1955 no doubt having a career spanning many decades. However, the chaps at Jacks shacks decided to purchase the truck and export it back to the U. K.
Where they set about building this magnificent commercial vehicle. They disassembled the entire vehicle and took it back to bare metal where their extraordinary process began.
They fitted a 5. 9 litre Cummins diesel engine, complete with a turbo charger and intercooler. Matched to that is a ZF 5 Speed gearbox and an air clutch. Th running gear is provided by a modern DAF 45 axels. With the power this truck generates the brakes needed a huge makeover and they were all replaced with air over hydraulic brakes which give confidence to stop well.
An air ride system has been installed with approximately five inches of travel. Left lowered on show looks stunning but can also cope with speed bumps once lifted which also give sit a comfortable ride.
On the outside the burnt orange a chrome pipes contrast perfectly giving it that one off look. The bed which measures18ft long and 7ft 2” wide and made of wood is hydraulic and moved by a remote-control unit. The ramps are hidden nicely out of view and the lockers are down the sides with stainless style locks. The exhaust stacks are handmade and give it the all-American effect.
Inside the cab it is has a three-seat bench seat all in dark brown leather as are the door cards and the roof lining. The gauges are retro and have a colour coordinated cream to match some of the other areas around the truck.
In 2021 The truck picked up an award at the NSRA Hot Rod and Super nationals show, for the best pick up in show and was also in the top ten of the whole show.
