History:
The Jaguar Coupé is the style icon of automobile construction and a member of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
This Coupé was first sold to a businessman in Bazenheid SG in October 1973 and subsequently had two owners. Taken over by the current owner in 2004, the Coupé has been completely restored at great expense and driven almost 20'000km in the past 20 years. The expertise shows the exceptionally high-quality restoration, which extends from the bodywork to the underbody, chassis, interior and electrical system. A very good and beautiful example in British Racing Green. For the sale, the technology was overhauled again for CHF 18'000.
Body and paintwork:
Clean gaps prove the permanent care of this car during the last 50 years. The paintwork is flawless and without any irregularities. A professionally applied nano-sealing protects the paintwork for the next 3 to 5 years.
Interior:
The new leather seats exude British nobility and elegance. The entire interior has the appearance of a new car.
Engine and mechanics:
Since 2013, over 30000 Swiss Francs have been invested in maintenance, more than half of which for the new veteran's inspection. The engine runs silky smooth, the gearstick precise and the clutch engages without hesitation.
Chassis:
Chassis and brakes were freshly overhauled for the MFK (MOT) and have no need for action. The 80-point check only revealed a small amount of play in a wheel bearing, which has already been corrected.
Driving experience:
Starting, shifting into fourth gear at 40km/ h and revving the engine up to a top speed of 140km/ h, that's driving an E-type V12. The engine is smooth and incredibly elastic. The ride comfort is exceptional for a sports car.
Recommendation:
The style icon of the century in its typical British colours, that is rare to find. You have to look just as hard for a hand-shifted example in a fantastic state of maintenance. And if, as in the case of this example, it is a Swiss first delivery, you have an E-type that is not only a pleasure to drive, but also retains its value and keeps the owner away from constant visits to the workshop.
