History:
The Maserati Mistral started the tradition of naming Maserati cars after winds. With the Mistral, star designer Pietro Frua achieved a celebrated success. The successful model was produced just 828 times during its 7-year construction period. This makes this classic one of the most collectible models. This Mistral was delivered new in Rome in 1967 and taken over by its owner D. Cosgrove in New York in 1970, where the car remained in its original condition until 2012. In 2013, the current owner, based in Switzerland, took it over and had it completely restored. The Nut and Bolt restoration is documented and shows the individual restoration steps of this work, which cost over 200, 000 Swiss francs. The Mistral has the delivery note of 6 February 1967 and all three Maserati certificates.


Bodywork and paintwork:
The aluminium bodywork and paintwork have been freshly rebuilt in the original colour Grigio New Market. All add-on parts have been re-chromed and fitted with fresh fittings.


Interior:
The leather as well as the carpet landscape were ordered according to original specifications and sewn and installed in the Mistral for a perfect fit.


Engine and mechanics:
The documentation shows pictures of the disassembled engine, gearbox, rear axle and all add-on parts. The sensitive injection system was replaced early on by the recommended Weber carburettors.


Chassis:
The entire chassis was powder-coated in disassembled condition, the springs and brakes were renewed, the original Borrani rims were overhauled at Borrani.


Driving experience:
The Mistral is an elegant sports car that probably manages a top speed of 245km/ h, but you would hardly expect it to do so. Instead, it impresses with its comfort, refined ambience and long-distance capability.


Recommendation:
If it says "one of 848", then this classic is definitely a collector's choice. With its rarity and elegance, the Mistral is an asset on any occasion and an invitation to the whole world of classic cars for the owner.
