Converted from left hand drive to right hand drive by Martin Robey Engineering, Nuneaton, Warwickshire in 2004.

Works included a complete and extensive re-trim all in the original tan colourway, the original reclining seats with optional headrests retrimmed in fine tan leather with centre section perforations, new deep pile carpets throughout with tailor made rubber inserts with bound edges, new underfelt throughout, matching door cards with flawless chrome trim, leather centre armrest and cubby box, new sun visors, optional inertia reel seatbelts, all unmarked.

Fully retrimmed new dashboard, new wiring loom, all interior lighting, crystal clear Smiths gauges, switches, analogue clock and electrics work as they should. An original 8 track player, fully refurbished Jaguar wood rim steering wheel and centre boss completes this stunning interior.

Exterior

The body has been completely stripped and repainted by Martin Robey Engineering at a cost of £12600 in September 2005.

Painted in the original Jaguar colour of British Racing Green. The paint finish and bodywork are outstanding which is testament to the quality of workmanship by Martin Robey 18 years ago. Factory panel fit, shut lines and gaps. The underside was completely undersealed throughout and still presents in excellent order. The paintwork has been maintained to the highest standards and presents beautifully with arrow straight panels as you can see from the pictures.

All external bright work is either original or replated and looks stunning throughout. Original Lucas lighting all round with the exception of better performing Wipac halogen headlights. A new Pilkington correct tint windscreen has been fitted, side windows are original Triplex fitment and all unmarked.

A new tan mohair hood has been fitted to the original excellent framework, the hood opens and closes with ease and looks stunning. A matching brand new hood envelope completes this exceptional roadster... Wonderful

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

The 5 chrome 72 spoke centre lock hub wire wheels and two eared spinners are in fantastic order. Fitted with all matching quality period Dunlop Gold Series Radial 205/ 75 R15 white wall tyres which are excellent all round.

The servo-assisted all round disc brake system has been completely overhauled with new discs, pads, servo, calipers, and brake lines giving the car excellent braking feel and capability.

Engine & Transmission

The fully detailed engine and engine bay houses the incredible Jaguar 4235cc straight 6 engine, 265 bhp at 5400 rpm, 283 ft-lb torque at 4000 rpm with new triple Weber 45 DCOE carburettors and K&N air filters.

On the road, she is a joy to drive needless to say she runs perfectly hot or cold and sounds tremendous through the new Classicfabs full long manifold stainless steel exhaust system with horned tailpipes costing over £2000. The fully rebuilt all synchromesh 4 speed manual gearbox selects with ease, the new clutch is light and progressive in operation, gear change positive and precise... A joy to drive and what a soundtrack.

Here we have a rather special matching numbers Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster. Originally LHD residing mainly in Wisconsin and Indiana before moving to California in the late 1990's.

The car was in long term ownership by Mr John Rhys-Davies an Englishman who eventually returned back to Kirk Michael, Isle-Of-Man to live and bought the car with him in December 2003. The E-Type in February 2004 was then entrusted to noted Jaguar E-Type restoration specialists Martin Robey Engineering, Nuneaton, Warwickshire for a complete restoration including converting to right hand drive and completed September 2005.

The history file documents the 2 year restoration undertaken by Martin Robey, Stateside registration documents back to the 1980s, servicing, maintenance and upgrade invoices totalling circa £9, 000 over the past 5 years, past MOT certificates back to the first in 2005 when returning back to the UK, previous owner details in the States plus 3 UK owners in the last 18 years, Stateside pictures of the car and 2 sets of keys.

Since completion in 2005, the car has only covered a mere 4300 miles.

Today this beautiful Series 2 Roadster presents in exceptional order throughout and included in the sale is the cherished number plate 2 RCX with a market value of circa £7500.

A Fresh 12 month MOT will be issued upon sale and of course, this E-Type is HPI Clear with certificate included.

This is an outstanding example of the mighty Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster. Unarguably one of the most elegant sports cars of all time.
