We are delighted to offer another first class, beautifully restored Volvo P1800S onto the market. This Swedish built Volvo is a UK home market car first registered on the 1st November 1963 and an extensive history file dating back to the 1970?s accompanies the car. The Volvo has spent most of its life in the South of England and MOT certificates show the P1800S was in regular use during the late 1980s, 1990?s and early 2000?s covering in the region of 21, 000 miles from 1988 to 2004. Invoices throughout the 1990?s and early 2000?s are on file, but having clearly demonstrated its ability for regular, reliable use, the Volvo was ready for more major work.
A detailed photographic record along with thousands of pounds worth of parts from Volvo specialist Brookhouse Volvo parts documents an impressive, long term bare shell restoration that has been carried out to an exceptional standard. The Volvo was completely stripped down, taken back to a shell and then restored with various new panels as required. Having completed all metal work, the shell was then prepared for paintwork and superbly finished both inside and outside the shell, the underside also painted in body colour to a fabulous standard. The engine, gearbox and rear axle were stripped and rebuilt, as was the suspension, steering and braking system. Electrics were renewed, and the car put back together diligently. The Volvo was built up with gleaming bright work, new trims and rubbers, various ancillaries, wheels re-furbished and the inside of the vehicle re-trimmed.
The Volvo was completed by 2014 and since then has covered less than 2000 miles. APA 795A is without doubt finished to a level where it can pick up local show awards, the standard of the paintwork is impressive and the detail under the bonnet, and to the underside of the vehicle is excellent. The body is beautifully straight, panel gaps excellent and a high level of detail is apparent right throughout the vehicle. The Volvo starts up instantly, the engine ticks over perfectly and on the road performance is fabulous. The Volvo changes through the gears nicely, it handles superbly and feel tight, precise and has an impressive road holding. It's a car that is enjoyable to drive, it offers a first class experience and from the way it drives, and presents, its hard to believe the restoration was completed almost ten years ago. It has been very well maintained since completion, and has come to us directly to us from its Sussex based recent owner, a retired B747 Flight Captain who has thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful Volvo over the last nine years.
