1969 Ford Escort Mk1 1300 GT - RHD Import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. We are applying for the UK registration this coming week. This shell is mint and one of the best we have ever seen. Its all painted underneath, no stone chip, no underseal, nothing to hide. Genuine GT and heavy duty shell. Car starts runs and drives
Body - Export spec heavy duty shell, very similar spec to our twin cams. Shell has never been plated or welded and has all been cleaned and painted underneath. Its one of the best "Henry Ford" shells ive seen in a long time. As mentioned theres no stone chip, sealer, underseal or similar on it. Paintwork is pretty tidy . Its not a show winner but perfectly presentable. Windscreen rubber not quite sitting right at the top. Think it may be an aftermarket rubber. Car sitting a bit high at the rear and could do with a set of lowering blocks. In the boot doesnt seem to have been painted when the rest of the car was done. Its the same colour but looks older and a bit scruffy.
Mechanics - Early 681F 1300 Crossflow, which we believe to be the original engine. It starts and runs fine and looks like its all been cleaned and painted. New Track Control Arms, Track Rod Ends, Flexis, poly bushes. and more. 4 Speed gearbox. Brakes and clutch feel Ok. Car starts runs and drives and looks good, but with any old car its worth giving it a good checkover before being used in anger.
Interior - Light coloured GT interior and door cards which we have never seen before. 6 dial dash. All seems to work apart from rev counter. Red dash and steering wheel. Good headlining.
Wheels - Aftermarket 7" superlite style rims which are a bit too wide as they want to rub the wings on full lock.
You will struggle to find a better early unmolested, unwelded shell than this. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
