Technically registered as a 1988 "Electricars" float, these floats were essentially rebodied older heavy duty Morrison D1 electric milk floats fitted with a newer and different body and larger cab with folding doors.
We have sold a number of these before and this one was indeed one we supplied a couple of years ago together with a smaller Morrison D6 to Ramsgate council who at the time required a couple of cost effective heavy duty electric vehicles for street maintenance and local services support.
Now surplus for their roles, we purchased them back and have already sold the smaller D6 that has gone on to be a service support vehicle for a gardening company that look after the plants in a huge shopping centre complex.

When we fitted out and overhauled this float it was completely mechanically overhauled with all the brakes and suspension and wiring checked and any parts replaced where needed also it was fitted with a brand new large as possible 72volt battery set of close to 660A/ H as well as a new automatic single phase charger and modern "Curtis" electronic controller and foot switch for safe and easy speed control.
The float and the battery have done little work since being supplied and we have sent the float back to our engineer for a pre-sale service and re-fresh.
It is ready to go to it's next owner.
The cost of building a float to this spec now would be £20k plus so with just light use and a battery set with years of life left, this is great value. Just re-paint or wrap it to your brand.
These floats are very versatile, MOT, ULEZ and tax exempt too !
They make great catering and delivery vehicles for heavy loads and we have sold many for use by engineering companies, coffee guys, florists, bakers and we also have used them for funerals !

With a carrying capacity approaching 1700kg's and a huge battery set this is a heavy duty float and ready to work.
With the blanket 20mh limits now in city centres these are practical to use and make a lot financial sense as well as being hugely eye catching.
The last one we had like this was used to remove and haul away fallen trees in London!
