We are very pleased to offer a beautiful 1960 Volkswagen Beetle. As a confirmed Mini fanatic I have to admit that this car has really worked its charms on me. It stops people in there tracks as it is just so original looking and stylish. Finished in Mango green with a matching light green leatherette trim and complimented with a set of Firestone white wall tyres. It has had a very cared for life with just four previous owners it is presented in ready to use, drive and show condition. It is accompanied with a certificate from the Volkswagen museum. Stating model 114, VW, original right hand drive UK car, 30 DIN, 1. 2 litre. It was manufactured on the 28th of December 1959 and despatched 5 days later to Ramsgate. Registered here on the 21st of January 1960. It was ordered with a MPH speedo, lockable rear engine lid. It also has of its correct features for its year and has survived 64 years without being modified.
On the road is where the experience starts. Beetles have a global following that is rightly deserved. The unique driving experience quickly puts a smile on your face. The Air cooled engine fires instantly and benefits from having a new old stock carb, performance is brisk and the gearbox is precise and positive as it should be. This early Beetle offers the pure driving experience that becomes addictive. This is the last year of the simpler styling and Trafficators which really adds to this cars character.
The interior is an absolute work of art and remains untouched from 1960. The roof lining, door cards, rubber floor matts and seats are all original which is a testament to this Beetles cared for life and its a fantastic place to be. It has some very detailed features and buttons, the original radio and steering wheel. This model also has rear seat belts which are a useful addition.
This Beetle has a fantastic shell and appears to be unrestored. It has super solid floors, body coloured floor pans and inner arches. It was repainted over ten years ago and this has settled well and gives this Beetle its amazing appearance. It also won best in show at the Dubs collective weekender in 2018 and it still has the trophy. This Beetle is super rare and easy to drive and will certainly makes its new owner smile as much as it has. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed and is also MOT and Tax exempt.
