Description
Well, well. Here at Martin Howey Classics we are offering for sale a 1963 Vauxhall Victor which spent a minimum of 50 years with its original owner, a lady greengrocer in Norfolk.
Current V5 states just two previous owners but the marvellous history file reveals that the first owner still had this Vauxhall insured at the same address after 50 years of ownership. The mileage reading of 24, 000 is very probably correct. Thirty-two years ago, the mileage was just 23, 000.
This amazing old FB, registration number XMW 590A, was "rescued" from garage storage around 18 months ago and re-commissioned at a cost of 2k. It needed basic work such as clutch freeing, brake rebuild and fuel tank flushed out. The delightful history file even comes with picture of the lady owner standing proudly next to her Victor as early as 1965!
The vehicle's original Service book is also in the file with a note stating that it was "Back on the road in April 1992 with 23, 042 miles on the clock." There is an old-style Castrol GTX sticker in the driver's door check, still in good order and stating that the next oil change is due at 23, 000 miles.
Condition-wise she is lovely in an appealing shade of off-white with contrasting red interior. She is a three-speed column change model and an early FB with the 1500cc engine.
Rarely do you come across 60-year-old cars with such provenance. An exceptionally stylish family saloon back in the day and a model which still turns heads to this day.
Give me a call if you are interested in knowing any more about this voluptuous Victor.
I can also assist with delivery and so feel free to ask for a quote. Martin the details below).
