One of the most famous racing motorcycles of all time and named after the Manx Grand Prix
Launched initially in 1939 as an 'over the counter' race bike in either 350cc or 500cc spec and in production until the end of 1962
Developed continuously throughout its lifetime with the additions of double overhead camshaft engines and featherbed frames
This example is a Model 40 350cc model and very unusually for a bike of this age has matching frame and engine numbers
Was believed to have been raced in 1956 by Terry Shepherd in the Junior TT and finished tenth
According to factory records the bike was supplied new to Simisters in Birkenhead in 1956 and sold to Shephard
Complete with Norton dating certificate
In good running order with a new RGM Norton clutch recently fitted at a cost of circa £1, 000
Fitted with an original 4-speed gearbox and complete with spare mega cone exhaust
