Remarkable one family owner (Father and son) until the last owner since 2022. This is possibly the most original P6 in existance, as close to factory new you are ever likely to see. Conserved in timewarp condition with just 11, 000 miles substantiated since new, just over fifty years ago. Having never seen rain it is hard to believe a better example exists.
Full supporting service history plus every single Mot certificate since 1976 to verify the exceptional low usage. Owners handbook and literature retained in the original wallet with completed BMC Passport to Service book showing eighteen main dealer stamps up to 9500 miles. heritage certificate, Rover workshop manuals, original new car sales invoice dated 4th January 1974 for £2087. 22 from Rossleigh Ltd, Motor engineers, Newcastle. This old established firm was founded in 1889 by Messers T F Ross and W L Sleigh and had branches all over Scotland and north of England. They also had a royal warrant to HM queen, poudly displayed on their letterheads. The extras quoted were for a roof aerial, underbody 'Ziebart' rustproof sealant which has certainly worked, in preserving the car in the condition it presents toady, and transfer of owner supplied radio which is still with the car in working order along with the Radiomobile operating instruction booklet, even the removeable Rover badged radio blanking panel has been preserved. The spare tyre is still in new/ unused condition. Also found in this time capsule car, a unused vintage 1974 UK petrol coupon ration book.
The body and paintwork is unmarked finished in glorious original 'Almond' beige with contrasting unworn black interior with unfaded upholstery having been protected from the sun by fitted over-covers.
The underside is original and well rust protected, even retaining its original sill jacking points and blanking bungs.
The originality of this P6 is amazing, comparable to a twelve month old car and far superior to any restored example.
Although now classed as a historic car, Mot exempt and free road tax, we will supply the car with a full 12 months Mot for your peace of mind.
