Description
MGB Roadster – Heritage Reshell/ Full Restoration
The original MGB Roadster is one of the most recognisable British sports cars ever manufactured. It brought affordable fun to the open road when launched in 1962 and today is an ideal choice for anyone looking for roof down classic car ownership.
Milestone Classics are delighted to market this exceptional MGB that was the subject of a painstaking Heritage re-shell and mechanical restoration 25 years ago. The ‘B’ presents extremely well today and is a real testament to the skill & knowledge of the restorer.
First registered in 1971 the car was bought from A J Restorations for restoration in 1996 and although lots of work was completed the project was aborted by the owner, a mechanical engineer, in 1997 (a wise decision) and a Heritage bodyshell purchased from the MG Owners Club.
The Club sprayed the car in light British Racing Green, new panels were used throughout the re-shell exercise and all mechanical components inspected / overhauled / replaced as required.
The interior was also replaced with leather seats, new dashboard, carpets, and hood.
Additional work since includes:
· Unleaded cylinder head
· Steel wheels replaced with chrome wires
· Prop shaft.
· Parabolic rear springs with GAZ adjustable rear dampers
· Lumenition Megnetronic ignition and coil
· Moto-Lita steering wheel, boss & horn push
· Louder indicator repeater
· Regularly serviced/ always MOT’ed
Today the ‘B’ looks, drives. sounds superb and comes with an extensive history file back to the 1990’s containing old V5’s, invoices, MOT’s, pictures of the car and a short summary history.
This roadster really does tick all the boxes and needs to be viewed in order to be fully appreciated.
