Description

In 1952 the French Jaguar agent in Lyon, Mr. Henry Peignaux, was eager to obtain a C-Type Jaguar from the factory.
But due to the Le Mans victory, demand from the US was high for the C-Type and the factory could not sell a car to Peignaux.
So Peignaux obtained permission from Jaguar to build his own lightweight racing car.
He had a 1952 XK120 chassis bodied by his friend Jean Barou with an aluminium barchetta body, and fitted various C-Type parts.
The car was then entered for the 1953 Grand Prix of Rio de Janeiro, the 1954 Rally Lyon-Charbonnieres and the 1955 Course de Cote de Charbonnieres.
Mr. Henri Peignaux kept the car until 1970 before selling it to a Jaguar enthusiast who would keep the car for 20 years before selling it in 1990 to another wellknown Jaguar racer who would keep it for many years.
In 2000 the car came to Belgium and we sold the car to a new owner who absolutely loved it and kept it for 24 years.
In these 24 years he participated 4 times in the Mille Miglia, 3 times La Leggenda di Bassano, 1 time Cento Oro Classic and various others.
