Description
Alfa Romeo launched the 105 Series Giulia Sprint GT in 1963. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone the new car featured Alfa Romeo’s classic 106bhp alloy twin-cam 1600cc engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. Suspension was independent at the front with a coil-sprung live axle at the rear. Brakes were discs all-round.
The GTC was a convertible version of the Giulia Sprint styled by Touring of Milan who also carried out the conversion by removing the roof and reinforcing the chassis to retain rigidity. The GTC was also one of the rarest 105 Series variants with only around 1000 examples produced. The model featured wind-up rear-quarter windows, four seats and a hood that folded neatly into a recess behind the rear seats.
Our LHD example was originally finished in the rare colour of blue but was subsequently repainted to classic Alfa red whilst retaining its original black interior.
Currently located in northern France and registered in Belgium, our GTC represents a rare opportunity to acquire a good useable example of one of the rarest open-topped Alfa Romoes.
