1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 2 LWB James Young non division 6 light. Chassis number: LCA27 Registration number: G1960 (Norway) We will register this car in the UK when it arrives from Norway. While most Silver Cloud IIs received the pleasant but bland 'Standard Steel Sedan' bodywork from the factory, there remained a steady and small market for the fascinating custom bodies, personally hand-built to customer order. Among these was James Young's SC12, a 'six-light' example with rear windows and a beautifully designed rear deck. Despite its size, the car had an unusually graceful, long and elegant silhouette, and was among the most attractive designs created for the long-wheelbase Silver Cloud II. Only five examples of this design were marked down, two of them on left-hand drive chassis; this is one of three RHD examples, making it a very rare car indeed. The car is finished in Royal Claret over black with a grey leather interior. The car has resided in a collection in Norway for some years and is in the process of being repatriated to the UK. This car is unusual in that it was produced as a car to be driven without a division. Needless to say, it features James Young's usual spectacular wooden interior, including picnic tables for the rear occupants. The car is in good overall condition, having been used regularly, and has a slight patina rather than a fresh showroom feel.
