Things to know about this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II
In the meantime the production year of this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II is celebrating its 65th anniversary. Its previous owners apparently looked after it well, as it presents itself, even after decades, in a technically and visually consistently functional and very well‑maintained condition. Important to note: this Rolls-Royce is not a “made‑up US charade” but a genuine Brit. The Silver Cloud II has been registered in Germany with historic plates for the last 19 years up to today, has been well maintained and regularly driven over long distances, but never in the winter months! The TÜV reports from the last 10 years are available and allow unambiguous conclusions about the technical condition and the quality of maintenance. Everything works as it should: the engine starts easily, runs silky smooth, and the automatic transmission changes gears perfectly. The bodywork, interior, wood trim, carpet and headlining are in an age‑appropriate but truly very nice, well‑kept condition. Throughout the years this classic has been a more than reliable travel companion for its owners and is now for sale. Further photo material can be provided on request if interested.
THESE WORKS WERE CARRIED OUT IN MAY 2026:
1) Comprehensive service, including gearbox flush
2) Renewal / repair of the main brake cylinder and the wheel brake cylinders
Cost: over EUR 11, 000!
However the gearbox shifts absolutely beautifully and the brakes bite so hard that you might think they were discs instead of drums!
History of this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II
In 1959 the RR Silver Cloud II was first presented to the public. Externally it hardly differed from the Silver Cloud I, but it received a 6. 2‑litre V8 engine with a noticeable improvement in acceleration and torque. The substantial increase in engine power allowed a top speed of up to 183 km/ h. Power steering became standard equipment and, on request, electric window lifters could be ordered at extra cost. The Rolls-Royce was equipped with a four‑speed automatic transmission and hydraulic drum brakes with a mechanical brake booster. A total of 2, 417 Silver Cloud II vehicles were produced.
