Description
The Jaguar S-Type is a saloon produced by Jaguar Cars in the United Kingdom from 1963 to 1968. Announced on 30 September 1963, it was a technically more advanced evolution of the Mark 2, offering buyers a more luxurious alternative without the size and cost of the Mark X. The S-Type was sold alongside the Mk II and the Jaguar 420 after its launch in 1966. In the late 1990s, a retro-styled Jaguar S-Type of the same name was also produced, adopting the design of the original S-Types. The S-Type shown here was delivered new in 1964. The car was first registered in the Netherlands in 1981. A full, meticulously carried-out restoration began in late 1988. It lasted several years. However, everything was meticulously managed at the time, as evidenced by the numerous invoices and photos of this restoration attached to the car. The car is equipped with a powerful 3. 4-litre six-cylinder engine, mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. It also features an overdrive! The exterior of the S-Type is painted in Old English White. The interior, of course, is adorned with beautiful burr walnut veneers, including on the dashboard. The leather upholstery of the seats is oxblood red. The superb chrome wire wheels complement the exterior, making a true classic English icon. What a car! The current owner has recently had the car serviced with care, including a full overhaul with the replacement of many seals, cooling hoses, carburettors, etc. The car drives superbly! If you’re looking for a unique Jaguar that’s a joy to drive, this S-Type is an elegant choice. Fancy coming to see it? You’re warmly invited.
