EXTERIOR
Finished in a beautiful shade of Mineral Metallic the bodywork of this M3 Competition shimmers. The paintwork is in excellent condition, with no visible marks, and after detailing glimmers like it has just rolled off the assembly line. Large grilles, bonnet bulges and vents, deep side skirts and twin exhausts all make up this V8 edition of BMW’s iconic M3 pedigree first introduced back in the 80s.
The Competition Package, sometimes known as ZCP version was released in 2010. The changes related to the suspension and electronic stability control and consisted of, ride height lowered by 10mm, revised tuning of the variable dampers (Electronic Damping Control) and 19 inch multi spoke alloy wheels.
INTERIOR
The cabin is finished with a anthracite headliner and black leather, beautifully trimmed which remains in fantastic condition. The seats show no real signs of wear, with no sagging evident and the bolsters still in good order whilst carbon inserts on the door cards and centre console provide a subtle contrast.
With heated electric memory seats, cruise control and total tech connectivity all the boxes are ticked and provide the comforts of a grand-tourer.
The programmable M button transforms the car into a formidable driving machine allowing pre-programming of the EDC, DCT and traction control settings whilst tightening throttle response.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The high revving V8 engine barks into life with a purposeful roar and quietens down after the warm up phase. With a majority of the engine’s power towards the top of the rev range the shrill V8 is a joy as you climb up beyond 6k rpms.
The 7 speed DCT gearbox is superb and a huge step on from BMW last SMG setup providing both smooth fully automatic function or manual changes.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The silver 19 inch multi spoke M alloy wheels look fantastic and remain in perfect condition wrapped in premium Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber all round.
The brake discs still have many miles left in them, with no evidence of lipping, as do the pads which show very little wear.
