Magnificent MGA 1600 Mk1 Coupe from November 1959 with this very beautiful pale green shade (Ash Green).
Weight-reduced, lowered, stripped, fitted, braced, reinforced, sharpened … when this MGA was transformed into the racing car it is today, nothing was left to chance.
It is powered by a BMC 4-cylinder 1588cc engine developing 127 bhp with two SU HS6 carburettors.
History:
From 2009, this MGA competed regularly and scored numerous successes under its various owners.
Until 2016, it competed in a number of championships in Great Britain (MG Car Club, Thoroughbred Sports Cars Championship, HSCC, VSCC, etc).
It was then maintained and prepared by Richard Thorne Classic Cars, a renowned British specialist.
Thus, around £15, 000 (almost €17, 000) were spent between June 2012 and April 2014 to make the car perform. The invoices for these works are in the file accompanying the car.
In 2016, the car left its native England to join France, where it has been based since.
It then carried its owner to the top step of the podium of the Asavé 65 as part of the FFSA Historic Tour, where it performed for three years until the end of 2018.
A testament to its performance and excellent health, it won the last three rounds of that championship in which it took part that year (6 May 2018 at Dijon-Prenois, 27 May 2018 at Charade, 9 September 2018 at the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans).
TOUR AUTO 2020
In preparation for the TOUR AUTO in 2020, it benefited from extensive preparation before taking part in the event.
Following this fabulous event, it underwent a complete overhaul.
Used sparingly since then, it is ready for its next adventures in historic competition.
