This very rare Riley RMC with the 2. 5L four-cylinder has a unique history. The previous owner was a Briton who owned the car in his homeland for a long time, but rarely drove it. The current Swiss owner had professional dealings with the owner when he supervised his construction sites in England. A friendship arose and the invitation to the young Swiss that, when he was in England, he should drive the Riley. He did so extensively, for the car delighted him. But the Briton would never sell his one and only, the white Riley!
One day in Switzerland, during the shared holidays, the Swiss mentioned that he wanted to buy an oldtimer and asked his English friend if he would accompany him to the inspection. This was met with a purchase offer for his Riley! Joy was great. Said and done, the Riley was soon loaded onto an trailer and transferred by the proud new owner from the UK to Switzerland.
From now on the Riley was allowed to do what it was built for: It was allowed to drive, many beautiful spins through half of Europe. He was treated with care and always served his owner without complaint.
The RMC was properly maintained and serviced, presented at events and well taken care of in winter.
Now the time has come for this wonderful cabriolet to delight a new owner. The RMC bears the marks of its life with dignity. The paint is far from perfect, but the top, the interior and the technical condition are flawless. In August 2024 it received its veteran inspection and is ready for new adventures.
There is a thick folder with documents, the slightly tattered owners handbook has been copied and compiled in a folder. Invoices and lists provide information about the work carried out, documented with photos.
The car photos are mostly provided by the owner, as I have no opportunity in winter to present the car well.
