In 1992, this beautiful TR6 was shipped from the USA to the Netherlands and ended up in the collection of a well-known enthusiast / garage owner in our region. At one point, there were too many cars in the collection and more than 30 years after purchase, the next owner came accross the car. As it is often the case with cars from a (too) large collection, they are rarely driven and if you are going to do that as the next owner, the necessary maintenance still has to be carried out. Now, the owner is not unfamiliar with a restoration, because many cars were already brought into concours condition by him. So his own TR6 was also tackled thoroughly. All parts were ordered from the Ede-based specialist Imparts, and the invoices are of course present. They give a good impression that no expense was spared. The car simply had to be perfect and reliable. And that was also achieved because the owner certainly enjoyed it. From bringing the car into perfect condition to driving this iconic Brit. Here is a brief summary of what was repaired or replaced: new clutch, servo, tires, all major service parts, ignition, installation of EU headlights, water hoses, heater tap, window and door rubbers, complete stainless steel exhaust, brake overhaul including brake discs, new soft top, installation of seat belts, and even the bumpers were neatly sprayed on the inside. Everything is extensively documented and shows that a true enthusiast with expertise has been busy making his hobby car perfect. An advantage that should not be underestimated for the next owner.
But still, the decision was made to have the car sold by us. And we are happy to do so, because a TR6 of this quality is always welcome. The TR6 is a true enthusiast’s car that is mainly bought because people like the sound of the wonderful and torquey 6 cylinder so much, but the design is also appealing. Angular, very recognizable, but also very classic. Space behind the seats, space in the large trunk, plenty of space under the bonnet, all parts are widely available, the purchase price and maintenance costs are affordable for many people and the car is and will always remain popular, so it will remain well on the market. Several reasons to seriously consider purchasing a TR6, we think.
This TR6 is completely ready to enjoy this coming seasons. Tight and undamaged in the beautiful maroon paint, a fine interior with the beautiful wooden dashboard is an eye-catcher. The already mentioned wonderful 6 cylinder with 2. 5 liter capacity, runs like very well and the gearbox is equipped with an overdrive, which reduces the revs by about 600 rpm and results in wonderful cruising. A top classic car in every way.
