Here we have a 1961 LHD Ford Taunus 17m deluxe. I have never seen one of these before, but couldnt resist it when I was offered it as a trade in. It looks brilliant and I think its cooler than the ice cubes in an Eskimos Vodka.
We have the V5 showing 1 UK owner whos had it from 2016. Prior to that we believe it was in the Czech Republic. We have an original sales brochure and handbook with it. Its a semi automatic. Theres three on the tree but no clutch pedal and you shift it manually.
Body - Very solid and original underneath. Doesnt look to need any work structurally. Floors are very good. evidence of a little filler on bottom sill edge but minimal. Original red and white colour scheme with chrome to separate the two colours. Paintwork is perfectly useable. There are a few blisters on the wings in the middle and a few stonechips on the bonnet. They are not bad considering the age of the car. If you wanted it mint you would have to do some paintwork.
Mechanics - 1700 4 cylinder engine. Starts runs and drives. Bit of a flatspot when cold but soon heats up. As mentioned its got a three speed column shift but not clutch. You shift manually but the car does the rest. Brakes are ok. This car was running an MOT till 2024 but is now historic. Their seems to be a small blow from the exhaust.
Interior - Looks original but cant verify if it is as never seen one before. Two tone seat to match the paintwork. Small replica model on the dash.
Wheels - Original steels with Atlas whitewall trims and original hubcaps.
Its a very interesting old car and your unlikely to see another at a car show thats for sure. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
