Its previous owners seem to have consistently looked after it, as after decades it remains technically and visually in a continuously functional and very well‑kept condition. Important to note: this Rolls-Royce is not a “made‑up US corpse” but a real Brit. The Silver Cloud II has been registered in Germany on historic plates for the last 19 years up to today, has been well maintained and regularly driven over long distances, though never in the winter months! The TÜV reports of the last 10 years are available and allow unambiguous conclusions about the technical condition and the quality of maintenance. Everything works as it should, the engine starts reliably, runs silky‑smooth and the automatic transmission shifts gears perfectly. The bodywork, interior, wood trim, carpets and headlining are in age‑appropriate, yet really very nice and well‑preserved condition. Historical note on this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II
In 1959 the RR Silver Cloud II was first presented to the public. Visually it differed hardly from the Silver Cloud I, but it gained a 6. 2‑litre V8 engine, with a clear improvement in acceleration and torque. The substantial rise in engine output allowed a top speed of up to 183 km/ h. Power steering became standard equipment and, on request, electric windows could be ordered at extra cost. The Rolls-Royce featured a four‑speed automatic transmission and hydraulic drum brakes with a mechanical brake booster. A total of 2, 417 Silver Cloud IIs were produced.
