DRR 175B is an immensely quick and capable Mini ‘Cooper S’ accompanied by a Historic Technical Passport until 2033. The HTP allows the Mini Cooper to participate in racing and hill climbs in the ‘Period F’ Competition Touring Car category and falls within the CT6 FIA class.
The specification for this impressive Mini ‘Cooper S' is a delightful 1000cc engine ensuring exceptionally brisk acceleration. The power plant was fully rebuilt by Mervyn Johnston, a Marque Expert, featuring new crankshaft, camshaft, conrods, pistons, and more totaling £7500. Fueling the power plant is twin H4 SU carburetors that are fed by a switch operated electric fuel pump that pulls from a foam-filled fuel tank. Big Brothers, a tuning specialist of North Yorkshire, were enlisted to carry out a tune on their rolling road to get it set up perfectly. To assist in tight corners, the already agile handling has been improved with a Salisbury, POWR-LOK limited slip differential. The gearbox is the BMC 4-speed gearbox with straight cut gears and synchromesh on second, third, and fourth. The braking system has been uprated with 2-pot calipers on the front giving confidence in the stopping power of this superb hot hatch. Other safety equipment includes a black roll cage made from Seamless Carbon Steel.
We welcome this Mini into our showroom coming from its 4th owner based in East Yorkshire. The previous owner had carried out a lot of the upgrades to take this Mini to a racing specification, signed off by Motorsport UK. We have had experience of many quick Minis through the business, but this one feels exceptionally well built, tight, and correct.
