Description
This one owner bike came to us having been sat un-used in a private garrage collecting dust for decades, having only covered 1200 miles prior to that. Obviously mechanically it was spot on and after a quick "carb job" new plug etc, running very nicely. It had however, not only picked up the expected dinks and bumps on its paintwork, kids push bikes etc, but the UK environment had not been kind to it, it had just gone dull every where! So we stripped it and cosmetically restored it, top to bottom retaining all the original parts. Tyres were replaced as although still like new, they were over 50 years old and we fitted a replacement fuel tap. Past a pair of aftermarket mirrors, as far as we are aware, the rest of the bike parts wise, is original. Paintwork as i said had picked up some minor marks so, apart from the two side panels, was fully refreshed with properly colour matched paint and graphics and now looks stunning. So there you have it a beautiful condition 1980 TS185ER in a very rare colour.
Note: As with all vehicles that have been stood un taxed etc they drop off the DVLA register and have to be re-registered. We have started this process and hopefully we will have its registration back soon. This will be a correct age related plate and the bike will be correctly registered in the "historic" tax class.
PS. Better/ more pictures will be available once the weather improves as after all the work we have put in, there's no way i am taking it outside.
