This Super 7 was rebuilt in the late 1990's as the car was in a fire damaged condition. It was rebuilt by a similar team that rebuilt the Lotus 37 replica I sold recently. The opportunity was taken to rebuild the Lotus 7 Series 3 to an exact copy of a Lotus 7 Twin Cam SS specification but instead of fitting a Lotus Holbay Twin Cam it was decided to fit a Lotus Holbay Crossflow as this was deemed at the time to be a cheaper option to service and rebuild an engine than a Twin Cam Lotus. The engine has been rebuilt to 1600 Lotus Holbay specification. This 7 is the pride joy of well known racing driver and racing enthusiast, Tim Goss. Tim won the Clubman championship in a Lotus 7 in 1969, hence the purchase of this car. It is a reluctant sale for him. The car has just recently been serviced and fettled and is now ready for sale. It comes with photographic evidence of the full rebuild of the car and massive history file. It would be very easy to fit a Lotus Holbay Twin Cam engine and make the car a perfect SS replica if desired. Also has Lotus 7 documentation to confirm this is an original 1969 Lotus 7 Series 3.
