The 1967 Ford Cortina 1500 Super Mk2 formed part of the second-generation Cortina range introduced in 1966, with the Super model offering enhanced trim and specification over the standard car and today holding strong appeal amongst collectors of period family saloons
Presented in excellent original condition, the car retains its factory finish and trim and remarkably still sits on its original cross ply tyres, a testament to its careful use and preservation
Powered by the 1. 5-litre four-cylinder Kent engine paired (unusually) with an automatic gearbox. The previous owner commissioned a full engine rebuild after the valves were found to be seized since it hadn’t moved since 1969. In addition, the brakes were renewed/ refurbished and a relined fuel tank was fitted to ensure it's ready for continued careful use
Aside from this recent mechanical recommissioning, the Cortina remains exactly as it was found, with no modifications from standard specification, preserving its character and originality
Showing just under 6, 300 miles from new and with only one previous keeper, this Mk2 has formed part of a private collection and has been serviced by the Collection's private mechanic, its condition further supported by the recent engine and braking works
Accompanying the car is the original Cortina owner’s manual, the original purchase agreement and the green logbook issued in 1967, offering the remarkable opportunity to acquire a minimal mileage, low ownership, second generation Cortina Super
