Description
1974 - Bentley T Series (T1)
Chassis n° SBX17982
French collector's registration
Notice:
"Sold new in France by Franco Britannic, only 1, 703 examples!"
The successor to the Bentley S-Series, the T-Series incorporates all the technical innovations introduced by the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, of which it is the perfect twin. It is nevertheless more discreet, with a less ostentatious grille. Yet it retains the same level of luxury, comfort and ease.
An emblematic model, the Bentley T1 is the first monocoque in the history of the British automaker. Powered by a 200hp 6. 3-liter V8, it features automatic transmission, power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The result was a combination of comfort and top performance for its time.
Delivered new by Franco Britannic to its first French owner in 1974, our model has had five owners since it was first put on the road. Its maintenance file, including numerous invoices, dates back to 2001.
In 2021, it underwent a major overhaul at the Bentley dealership in Malaga, including draining of all fluids, carburation, transmission, gearbox seal, air conditioning, replacement of alternator belts, air conditioning compressor, power steering and water pump, at a cost of over €6, 000. The car has been driven very little since its purchase in 2023, but has just been given a complete overhaul at Atelier 46.
The bodywork is now in used condition, with paint chips and traces of corrosion on the bodywork and underbody. Inside, the original upholstery has a delightful patina. The varnish on the woodwork could do with a little attention, and a thorough cleaning would restore the interior to its former glory. Far rarer and more exclusive than a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, lovers of luxury sedans won't be mistaken.
