And like every MG, this Midget is also a very user-friendly and easy-to-drive car. And that applies entirely to this Midget produced in 1976, with its delightful and powerful 1500 engine.
This stylish roadster was originally delivered in the United States in 1976, and the car arrived in the Netherlands in 1998. At that time, the car underwent a complete and thorough restoration. During this restoration, the car was not only completely overhauled technically, but also fully repainted in the stunning color Old English White. This stylish color forms a perfect combination with the black leather interior. The bodywork is in excellent condition, and the various chrome and trim parts are shiny and in very good condition. The various rubber parts and finishes are also in fine condition. The body panels fit together well, and the doors close solidly and properly. This MG Midget is equipped with perfectly matching ‘minilight’ alloy wheels, and a stylish luggage rack is mounted on the trunk lid. Incidentally, the soft top is also in very good condition.
The interior is in impressively good condition. The faux leather seats are in perfect condition and are comfortable and provide good support. The dashboard is also in very good condition, and all instruments work properly. The various chrome and trim parts are also in perfect condition. The compact leather steering wheel feels firm and good in the hands. There is a handy mount on the dashboard for a portable navigation system (included with the car). The matching radio also functions perfectly.
It is clear to see that this car has been maintained with great love and care. Under the hood lies a very well-cared-for engine block, and the car drives wonderfully. The four-cylinder 1493 cc engine delivers sufficient power for a wonderfully sporty driving experience. The steering is direct, and thanks to the short wheelbase, this Midget is very agile. The brakes feel firm and good, and this car also shifts exceptionally smoothly. A lovely sporty rumble comes from the exhaust, so the radio is superfluous.
