The Only Coupe For Sale in the UK
The scarcity of the 280i Coupe makes it one of those cars that you would never initially think to search for, but when presented in the correct fashion, it becomes one of the most appealing options at this price range. The 2008-2010 period saw a fully documented nut and bot restoration, with the body removed from the chassis, interior stripped, followed by a full resprayed inside and out and a complete overhaul of all suspension and brake components. Originality utilising a 2. 8L Ford Cologne V6 and 5 Speed Manual gearbox, this example received a more modern 2. 9L Cologne V6 from the TVR 290S — an extensively redesigned, more reliable and electronically fuel injected iteration that also gave a slight power increase. All of this ford goodness is packed in honestly one of the most beautifully designed TVR’s out there, with the perfect touch of class from a brand renowned for such deranged cars.
The Tasmin features a full fibreglass shell, making it weigh less and importantly rust proof. The underside remains in a entirely fresh condition, every nut and bolt still looks brand new. There are a few blemishes and light cracks on the paintwork to flaw - nothing of which is unexpected for a full fibreglass body. The original Momo Wheels have been refurbished and wrapped in a brand new set of matching tyres.
This TVR has been in my personal collection for a little over a year now, covering a little over 500 miles. Fresh from a £650 mechanical haul amending any little niggles, a full 3 stage machine polish, with an advisory MOT till 19th June 2026 regardless of being a historic vehicle. Only found for sale in convertible specification with the more problematic Rover V8, makes this one of the best and most unique opportunities into classic car ownership.
