Ducati 916 needs no introduction. It was a game-changing sports bike launched in late 1993 to World acclaim. It was one of the first models to become as well known outside the motorcycle World as it was within it. Four World Superbike titles with Carl Fogarty, film star roles, celebrity adoration and even showing at the Guggenheim Museum in New York as a piece of modern art.
The bike was imported into the UK in 1995 as dealers ran out of UK supplied machines at the time. It is a Biposto (dual seat) model that has been carefully converted to mono (single seat) configuration using all OEM parts, including seat unit, alloy subframe and under tray. The Biposto parts are supplied with the machine. It also includes the desirable Ohlins rear shock and OEM carbon clutch and swing arm cover. The original clutch cover also supplied with the machine.
It has covered under 10, 000 miles from new. Documentation is comprehensive and includes certificate of authenticity, proof of import, numerous invoices for work done and MoTs back to the early 2000s. It underwent a comprehensive overhaul in 2019/ 20 and has only covered 200 miles since a full service in 2021. Bike has been professionally re-commissioned prior to auction, after 6 years in a private collection, including new belts. In 2021, it had a full professional re-paint to OEM specifications by Dream Machine in Nottingham.
In summary the bike is in immaculate condition and is ready to ride or display.
