The Ford F-150 SVT Lightning was developed by Ford Special Vehicle Team as a high-performance variant of the F-150, created in response to growing demand within the American market for factory-built performance pick-ups. Building on the success of the earlier Lightning models, the second-generation truck was equipped with a supercharged 5. 4-litre V8 engine developing approximately 380bhp and 450lb-ft of torque, driving through an automatic transmission. This endowed it with performance figures of around 0–60mph in circa 5. 5 seconds and a top speed of approximately 140mph, positioning it as a credible alternative to contemporary performance saloons while also establishing the template for the modern ‘muscle truck’ genre.
Finished in Ebony Black, this example is accompanied by its service book displaying eight recorded stamps. According DVLA records, it has had five previous keepers, the current vendor having acquired it in October 2024. The vehicle is supplied with its book pack including the owner’s manual, user guide and warranty guide, together with the current V5C registration document.
At the time of photography, it was noted that the engine started readily and ran smoothly, with minimal mechanical noise evident at idle. It is further complemented by a twin-exit, custom chrome side-exit exhaust system, which provides a purposeful V8 note.
Never officially offered on the UK market and produced in relatively limited numbers, the model is seldom encountered on these shores. Offering a combination of performance, rarity and everyday usability, this example represents an accessible entry into the increasingly popular ‘muscle truck’ segment.
